Audio and Video Cables
Saturday September 27th 2008, 12:42 am
Filed under: Product Tips + More

Well in this episode I would like to talk about audio and video cables, something I
like to call the artery of our home entertainment (home theater, DVD player, TV,
Radio, etc.).

The audio and video cables are something important as any home entertainment
equipment that you or I have in our house, yeah that’s right because our audio and
video cables are like I said before, the artery of our home entertainment. Think
about it, any human body can’t live without healthy arteries, so any home
entertainment equipment can’t be 100% functional and give you a 100% what they
can give/make without quality cables.

Do you want crystal clear in you LCD T.V without interference? you need better
cables than the ones you got with your T.V; Do you want a better sound in your
equipment?, you need better cables… well I think you understand what I am
saying… am I right?

To ensure you that you will get the best for your money, let me explain you a little
bit about the audio and video cables…

  • First, you need to make sure that you’ll will receive high-performance cables,
the audio and video cables must transmit with the least amount of electrical
resistance. Your video cable should be 75 ohms, What’s impedance? It’s a
measurement of a cable’s inherent resistance to the flow of audio and video signals.
I remember that the less electricity resistance the better the video signal and that’s
what you and I want for sure.
  • The audio and video cables must have a shield to protect your signal from any-
interference such a mobile-phone, telephone, microwave, etc and for that some
cables use braided copper shields, others use foil shielding, and some use both
(double-shielding) to protect your music and video signals.
  • Remember, the audio and video cables are better when they are thicker, thicker
means less electrical resistance, the less electrical resistance the better audio/video
    signal between ends.
  • The high performance audio and video cables are made of silver or copper
(those two are one of the best conductors of electricity), any cable made of
aluminum wire is a poor, poor conductor of electricity. Another great conductor is
the fiber optic cable, it conduct the sound using light to transmit audio signals with
    almost no of interference.
  • And finally at the end of any audio and video cable (the part hat has to plug in)
has to be gold for better connection, or better yet, gold-platted to avoid corrosion
and better yet, I don’t know if you are a mac-fan, but there are cables like the
Macbook that resist when you accidently unplug it.
  • While the technology and quality of the equipment continues to improve and the
prices are down ( ? technology + ? prices= new DVD in our room?), the cables are
not same level (at least the ones which come inside in the box), at least are they
    free.. jejeje

Finally, I would like to introduce the cables that for me are the best… the monster
cables without a doubt are the best in the market, at least for me, it’s my opinion,
you may have a different one, but don’t miss something important when you’re
going to buy any audio and video cable, the facts and the tips that I am giving you
    today, ok?

    good luck.
“better things come from better people… be one of them. share what you know”

    DVD Copy Software Review
    Friday September 26th 2008, 10:35 am
Filed under: Product Tips + More

Of the vast number of DVD copying software available on the market, here are some of the very best ones:

The DVD Cloner II is arguably the best DVD copying software currently on the market. The software is a user’s delight, easy to install, uncomplicated and has the ability to produce high quality DVD duplicates. Perhaps the one feature that separates it from the rest of the competing software is that it comes with an integrated CSS decryptor, meaning it can copy DVDs that are copy-protected. Its market price is $39.99.

1Click DVD is a product of LG Software Innovations. As its name suggests, it can copy a DVD movie with a single click. With wonderful customer support and speed, the software is a highly feasible buy. However, unlike the DVD Cloner II, it lacks a CSS decryptor. It has a market price of $59.00.

Clone DVD, a product of DVD X Studios, is another DVD copying software that comes with a CSS decryptor. However, unlike the DVD Cloner II, it cannot copy to CDs and is not very perceptive. On the plus side, it takes just three steps to copy a DVD movie in its entirety - extra footage, menu, etc. It is available in the market for a price of $99.95.

DVD Wizard Pro is a great buy if the user wants to copy games or DVD movies to one DVD disc, provided the original DVD is less than 4.5 GB. It has good features and comes with the ability to copy DVDs to CDs that can be played on certain DVD players. It is one of the more adaptable DVD copying software program on the market. Its market price is $39.95.

Clone DVD, a product of Slysoft, has a decent feature. Like its namesake from the DVD X Studios, it has the ability to copy an entire DVD movie in a few uncomplicated steps. It does not, however, copy to CDs and does not possess a CSS decryptor. Also, it is relatively complicated in comparison to other DVD copying programs. It is available for $39.00.

DVDFab, a product of Fengtae Software, has a user-friendly interface with a sturdy feature. However, it does not have the ability compress large DVDs into one blank disc. It is priced at $39.95.

DVD Duplicator Pro is similar to a DVD Wizard Pro when it comes to copying games and DVD movies. Like the Wizard Pro, it can also copy to CDs, and it has a “live chat” provision that facilitates customer support. DVD Duplicator Pro is priced at $39.95.

InterVideo DVD Copy Platinum is an excellent program for converting DVD movies to different formats like VCD, Divx, or SVCD. However, DVD Copy Platinum does not come with a CSS decryptor and cannot exclude extra material when copying a movie. It is available on the market for $79.99.

ICopyDVDs2 is competent if the user wants to back-up DVD movies to a single disc, provided there is a CSS decryptor. It gives the user the choice to omit or retain bonus material in the DVD. On the flip side, there are cheaper products available with more features. This software has a market price of $49.99.

DVD Copy provides detailed information on DVD Copy, Free DVD Copy Software, DVD Copy Software, DVD Copy Software Review and more. DVD Copy is affiliated with DVD-ROM Replication.

    Office Water Coolers

Whilst working in serviced offices, one of the better things to invest in is a water cooler. Not many people would seriously give the water cooler much thought about whether or not it’s an important addition to the office or not, but trust me, it is. First and foremost, a water cooler will provide employees with much needed hydration. Not only will this stop them from dying of thirst or being unable to think/work properly due to dehydration, but it’s a proven fact that regularly drinking water helps to keep the brain hydrated and therefore in top condition. This will lead to an all round better performance from everyone that regularly uses the water cooler. Another side-effect of having a water cooler is the tendency for people to gather around it and attempt some sort of socialisation, this can be good for office morale, as it will encourage everyone to talk to each other and hopefully, in turn, get along a lot better with everyone. Naturally this will lead to a better working environment for all concerned, and a better working environment will lead to a friendly workplace which yields significantly beneficial results. And that’s the end of that chapter, I think you’ll agree.

iPod Music Videos - Watch And Learn
    Monday September 22nd 2008, 3:50 am

If you kow anything about how today’s “artists” sell albums, you’ll not be surprised when I say, “it’s not all about the music”. And indeed its not. Let me give you a little example. The itunes music store has over 2000 music videos for sale. That is some serious camara time. Whatever happened to the Replacements? But, if you’re down with the glitz and the glamour and the diamonds resting in the bottom of a Dom P drenched champagne flute, then I’m talking your style.

And what style is that exactly? Ipod music videos, of course. That thing in your pocket isn’t just a single function unit, you know. Well, that is of course, if you’ve got a 5th generation ipod. If you do there’s a multitude of ways that you can realize the potential of it. You can watch everything from TV shows to movies and ipods music videos.

There’s also a plentitude of ways that you can obtain the videos, or whatever you want to watch. Take videos that you’ve taken off of your camara and have put on to your computer. Do you have some favorite movies on there (I know that most of my friends do)? You can put them right into your itunes, and then into the library icon. Once its on your computer your good to go to fill up your ipod. And then, as stated earlier, there is an amazing list of ipod music videos that are available for purchase on the itunes website.

The point is that as good as the photos look on your ipod, the ipod music videos are going to look just as clear and nice. So, use them. You have videos already sitting around on your computer, so load them up and get them mobile.

UFO: I Chat with the Real King Kong
    Friday September 19th 2008, 1:23 pm

“Can’t you ever get off that antique you call a computer?”

It wasn’t my wife it was Xrytspet. My wife says that my computer is too up-to-date, too expensive, and too available. She never calls it an antique.

I didn’t turn my head. I said, “Scram, Xrytspet!”

She said, “Writing about King Kong?”

    “Scram!”

“I can take you to Skull Island.”

I said, “There is no Skull Island. There is no King Kong. Scram!”

She said, “I can get you there in a minute.”

The next thing I knew we were on the beach at Skull Island. A heavy fog hovered over us and the surf was swishing up over my feet. I said, “Couldn’t you at least get us on land, Xrytspet?”

“Sorry!” she said. “A few steps and you’ll be out of the water.”

    I said, “Now what? I can’t see a thing.”

A bearded man came out of the fog. He wore a Panama hat, a scraggly red shirt, and torn britches that were faded by the sun from a deep blue to a dull gray. I said, “Who are you?”

Xrytspet said, “This is Jonathan Hawthorne. He is our interpreter.”

“Interpreter? Why do we need an interpreter, Xrytspet?”

“So that you can talk with King Kong. My language module does not include the animal dialects. I didn’t think I would need it. I can shoot back to Fenton and get it but that would take me a second but you would have to wait for eons. By the time I got back, you would be long gone with that short meaningless lifetime of yours.”

I said, “You watched Men in Black didn’t you, Xrytspet?”

“What else is there to do at your place? So I watched it. But the Bug was right.”

I shook hands with Jonathan Hawthorne. I said, “I’m sorry we disturbed you. She thinks that King Kong is real.”

He said, “And you think that creature is real?” He pointed at Xrytspet.

I said, “You’ll get use to her. If you want her to change her appearance, just ask her. You know how women are.”

He said, “Over the years I’ve learned to leave things as they are. They can get worse, you know.”

Gradually the sun cleared the fog and we could see the jungle. I said, “I thought there was a big stockade here to keep Kong out of the village.

Jonathan said, “You’ve seen the movie. But think about it, Jarhead. If King Kong can climb the Empire State building, holding a girl in one hand and swinging his fist at airplanes with the other, don’t you think he could climb a 30 foot wall.”

Xrytspet said, “Jonathan, you are getting to know Taylor Jones, the hack writer.

Ignoring the insults I said, “So, where is he?”

Jonathan pointed towards the mountains. “Up there!”

I said “Let’s go home, Xrytspet. I’m not much for climbing.”

Zap! We all three are in the mountains and there is King Kong sitting on a log, his big rump hanging over the edge like a down pillow. Our size was so small that he didn’t even notice we were there.

Jonathan took a big stick and smashed it down on King Kong’s toe. Kong looked down, offered Jonathan a finger, and lifted him up to eye level. Jonathan yelled down, “Shoot!”

    “With what? I didn’t bring a canon.”

Xrytspet said, “Idiot! Ask your questions.”

I yelled, “King Kong! I would like to meet your family.”

Jonathan translated and King Kong answered in a voice not proportional to his size. I took my hands off my ears and heard him say, “Kala Topa rak rakka rotofock.”

Xrytspet said, “They are on vacation on an Island called Kala Topa.”

I said, “Why did we hire an interpreter if you can speak Kong?”

She said, “I didn’t know I could until he spoke. I think that one of my modules practiced on the way out here. You can never trust a module. Next question.”

I said, “Xrytspet, ask him how old he is.”

She did and he answered, “Kina lacka knowatol.”

Xrytspet said, “He doesn’t know. But he is 320 earth years old and is still in his teens relative to earthlings like you.”

I said, “Now we are getting somewhere. Here we have something for all mankind. It’s like the fountain of youth. All we need to find out is what he has for breakfast that makes him live so long. This is a worthwhile trip. I’m grateful to you, Xrytspet.”

Xrytspet said, “You don’t want to know what he eats. Now let’s get out of here before he finishes that snack I brought him.”

A piece of Jonathan’s foot fell right next to me. Kong picked it up with two fingers and delicately dropped it into his mouth. That was the last bit of Jonathan.

    We ran.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (DVD) Review
    Friday September 19th 2008, 12:58 am

Nominated for 28 Emmys, including several for Outstanding Visual Effects, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine continues the rich tradition of the original 1960s Star Trek franchise. Created by former L.A. police officer Gene Roddenberry, the Star Trek TV series morphed into a franchise famous for the unprecedented fanatical devotion of its audience. Lasting only three seasons during its original network run, Star Trek struck gold with its syndicated reruns, launching a number of motion pictures featuring the original cast as well as novels, comic books, collectibles, and reams of Star Trek-related memorabilia. Following on the heels of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), the first Star Trek series spin-off of the original, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine foreshadowed additional spin-offs - Star Trek: Voyager (1995), and Star Trek: Enterprise (2001). Sporting an entirely new cast and crew from its two predecessors, the show focuses on a particular system administered by the Federation instead of the usual Star Trek mission of “exploring strange new worlds”…

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine follows the exploits of the Starfleet crew aboard an abandoned and gutted Cardassian space station orbiting the planet of Bajor. In the aftermath of Cardassian occupation, the Bajorian government invited the Starfleet to oversee the reconstruction of the space station. Deep Space Nine quickly transformed into a teeming city of commerce and a hub for travel (similar to Babylon 5) thanks to the discovery of an unknown wormhole nearby. But the wormhole leads to the Gamma Quadrant, realm of the feared Dominion alliance, which views the wormhole travelers as a threat to its totalitarian grip on power. As such, the Dominion launches an attack against the Federation and its Klingon allies. The subsequent and ongoing war is the basis for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine…

Capt. Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks) is credited with discovering the wormhole, and he oversees the crew of Deep Space Nine as they wage battle to preserve the Federation. Ironically, his colleague, Constable Odo (Rene Auberjonois), is a Changeling - an alien race of “shapeshifters” who lead the Dominion’s united front. Together with the rest of the crew aboard Deep Space Nine, they struggle with internal and external conflicts that threaten to destroy their very way of life…

The Star Trek: Deep Space Nine DVD features a number of exciting episodes including the series premiere “Emissary” in which the recently abandoned Cardassian space station, Terok Nor, is resettled by the Federation at the request of the Bajorians. Capt. Benjamin Sisko takes command and his discovery of the first stable wormhole nearby, a wormhole worshipped by the Bajorians as a god, transforms Sisko into a prophet in the eyes of the Bajorians. Meanwhile, the audience meets the rest of the cast and crew for Deep Space Nine… Other notable episodes from Season 1 include “Move Along Home” in which Quark’s cheating prompts a group of aliens from Gamma Quadrant to exact revenge on the crew of Deep Space Nine, and “Dramatis Personae” in which an indwelling by aliens transforms Sisko and Kira into enemies of the crew…

    The Comforts of Online Poker
    Friday September 12th 2008, 10:08 am
Filed under: Gambling Luck, Life Of Games, World Of Fun

It’s amazing these days, the way the casino lifestyle has changed and you can be sitting at home in your underwear eating takeout out of the fridge and at the same time playing cards with people across the globe. It’s easy to forget how nice this luxury is now, with everything so progressive and media on fire, but really online poker really is a force in and of itself. It’s comforting, and it makes a great way to spend a late night at home when you don’t feel like going to the bar, meanwhile giving you an opportunity to make money.

One of my favorite things about being able to play online poker at home is that not only can you run several tables at once (my personal best is five, I know that’s not a lot comparatively), but you can also have your email, your youtube videos, your poker tracking software (if that’s something your into), you own music playing, and pretty much all other variables of environment completely at your control.

It’s got to beat the pants off of the days where if you didn’t live in a gambling town, you had to plan the trip and spend all day in a casino next to sweaty dudes in ball caps and strange locals who want to talk your ear off.

Yeah, poker’s come a long way, and as far as I can tell it’s only going to get better as things continue to spread, with more and more people online everyday just waiting to hand you their online poker money. It’s a nice life.

There are many reasons and you need to be clear on which is of the most importance to you so that you can pick the best opportunity

We received a phone call from our travel agent that there were a few openings on a cruise through the Saint Lawrence Seaway and that if we could go we could get them for a fraction of the regular price. Luckily for us we had undertaken an opportunity to make money fast at home. By doing the work, and building the business we had the money in the bank and could easily pick up and go on a moments notice. As it was made from an internet business we were able to take our business with us on our laptop.
